- Factors Divide Evenly: A factor divides into the given number with zero remainder (e.g. 6 is a factor of 24 because 24 รท 6 = 4).
- Multiples Grow by Step Counting: A multiple is the product of a number and any integer (multiples of 7 are 7, 14, 21, 28, 35...).
- GCF: Greatest Shared Divisor: The Greatest Common Factor is the largest number that divides evenly into both numbers (e.g. GCF of 12 and 18 is 6).
- LCM: Smallest Shared Landmark: The Least Common Multiple is the smallest positive number that is a multiple of both numbers (e.g. LCM of 4 and 6 is 12).
