What is the PEMDAS rule in 6th grade math?
PEMDAS stands for Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication & Division (left to right), and Addition & Subtraction (left to right). Multiplication does NOT always come before division; evaluate them from left to right.
How do negative integer rules work?
Adding a negative number is identical to subtraction (e.g. 5 + (-3) = 2). Subtracting a negative number turns into addition (e.g. 5 - (-3) = 5 + 3 = 8).
