Use long division if needed
2
The quotient is the whole partWhole = 3
How many complete wholes
3
The remainder is the new numerator3ยฒโ„โ‚…
Keep the same denominator

๐Ÿ’กWhen There's No Remainder

If the division is exact (no remainder), the result is just a whole number! For example, 12/4 = 3 (not a mixed number, just 3).
