Whole Number Part
The complete units. In 2½, the whole number is 2.

The remaining part less than 1. In 2½, the fraction is ½.

💡Key Points to Remember
- A mixed number is always greater than 1
- The fraction part must be less than 1 (proper fraction)
- Mixed numbers can be converted to improper fractions and back
